Studying at the University of Edinburgh?
Want to know what it’s really like working with the world’s best companies on innovation projects?

Dr Alastair MacGregor and Aidan Poon are keen to hear from you – they’re talking with undergraduate and post graduate students about life as innovators, and how their studies in Physics and Mechanical Engineering respectively have enabled them to lead teams in delivering work which is changing the world for good – and helping our clients to outperform their competitors.

They want to know as to what you’re most interested in hearing about – please email enquiries2024@innoviatech.com and we’ll pass your questions on to them both beforehand.

Alastair plans to speak about how he helped to found the company, what the company has learned through 1500 projects and dive into some of Innovia’s most successful innovations. He’ll cover consulting as a career path and how it relates to working for industry directly. He’ll also talk about the central importance of a good academic training, why diverse skills are essential for innovation and what the company looks for when it recruits people. Aidan will cover similar topics, albeit from the perspective of being a more recent joiner to the business!

The talks are being run as part of the Entrepeneurship Masterclasses series. Postgraduates will hear from Alastair MacGregor on Monday, whilst undegraduates will hear from Aidan Poon on Thursday.

Alastair said: “It’s more important than ever that we encourage and support the development of the next generation of innovators – the world and the communities which inhabit it are facing up to some huge challenges right now. We need fresh perspectives, new ideas and novel approaches to make them change happen.”
